Applications for 2024-25
Admission to Coronado School of the Arts is merit based and begins on our website. Please familiarize yourself with our programs. Attend one of our "open houses" in the fall and winter. These events offer: campus tours, opportunities to meet current students and faculty; opportunities to learn about the admission process, and ask questions.
Any rising 9th grade (currently in 8th grade) or high school student in San Diego County is invited to apply to CoSA; about one-half of our students are from various school districts throughout San Diego County.

Complete and submit an online application for the 2024-25 school year. You will need to create a free google account if you don't have one.
We DO NOT ACCEPT PHOTOS of Applications or PHOTOS of any Admission materials. It is the applicant's sole responsibility to submit all the documentation requested. Incomplete applications will not be processed.

Prepare for your Audition, Portfolio Review or Interview.
You'll receive email notification of your audition date and time.
There are a couple things you can do to get ready for your audition and/or portfolio review and interview:

2. Plan, review, rehearse and repeat!
- Prepare your portfolio with materials that showcase your talent and abilities.
- Practice your audition song, monologue or dance in front of others; solicit feedback and make adjustments.
- Role-play interview scenarios with parents or friends.
If you are unable to attend a scheduled interview please give us the courtesy of email notification as early as possible; we will assign your spot to another candidate.

You will be notified of your acceptance status by email.
Your status will be one of the following:
- For students residing in Coronado: Admitted or Not Admitted. If not admitted you may be encouraged to apply to a different conservatory or reapply the following year.
- For students residing outside the Coronado Unified School District boundaries (Inter District Transfer Students):
a)Conditional offer of Admission pending completion and CUSD approval of the IDT process;
b)Not Admitted.
If offered admission to CoSA, you'll receive detailed information on how to begin the IDT process. All IDT applications are reviewed by the CUSD office, and they will notify you of your IDT status.
- If a conservatory has filled up, you may be put on a Waiting List, pending space availability.

Accept or decline your admission to CoSA as soon as possible.
Your offer of admission will specify a deadline for you to accept or decline. Please respond by the deadline returning all documentation requested, or you may forfeit your spot.
